Please join certified yoga instructor Kate Alesio for chair yoga, Thursdays from 11 am to 12 noon. In these classes, participants will learn and practice simple yoga exercises and breathing techniques in a way that is safe, easy and gentle for all bodies. Yoga is an ancient, time-tested system of mind/body/spirit healthcare. Yoga exercises will be done sitting in chairs and/or using chairs for support while standing and balancing. Modern scientific research has proven the benefits of yoga in the treatment of arthritis, back pain, blood pressure, depression, anxiety, insomnia and bone density. Regular yoga practice may help to offset pain, improve flexibility and increase overall strength. You will leave feeling relaxed and energized, with a quiet mind and peaceful perspective. All are welcome ~ come as you are! No prior experience required. Beginning and experienced students welcome. Please dress comfortably and plan to practice on a relatively empty stomach.
